RefundMate is built to keep your information to a minimum. Generating letters requires a free account, and we do not store your complaint in any database.

What we process

Your account (email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile details) is managed by our authentication provider, Clerk, along with a count of how many letters you have generated. The details you enter — your description, the business name, your desired outcome and category — are sent to our server and to our AI provider (OpenAI) solely to generate your letter, then returned to your browser.

What we keep

Nothing about your specific complaint is persisted by RefundMate. The generated letter lives only in your browser until you copy or download it. Closing the tab clears it.

Third parties

Letter generation uses the OpenAI API. Please review OpenAI's usage policies for how prompts are handled on their side. Avoid including sensitive information you would not want processed by a third party.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle your information changes, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
